Find replacement access floor panels for existing raised flooring systems, including 31mm steel encapsulated panels and other commonly used panel types. Need to replace an existing raised access floor panel?

Do not select a replacement based on thickness or nominal panel size alone. Two panels may both be described as 600mm × 600mm × 31mm while differing in construction, edge detail, fixing arrangement, pedestal interface or technical performance. The existing panel and supporting system should be checked before ordering.

How Do I Identify a Replacement Access Floor Panel?

Start with an undamaged panel from the existing floor wherever possible. Lift the panel safely, check both sides for markings and record its actual dimensions. The more information you can provide about the existing panel and support system, the easier it is to narrow down possible replacements.

  1. Panel length
    Measure the actual panel from edge to edge in millimetres rather than relying solely on a nominal size.
  2. Panel width
    Record the actual width of the existing panel in millimetres.
  3. Overall thickness
    Measure the complete panel thickness carefully at the edge.
  4. Panel construction
    Identify whether the panel is steel encapsulated, chipboard-based, calcium sulphate or another construction where this can be established.
  5. Edge and corner detail
    Look at the shape and construction of the edges and corners and take a clear close-up photograph.
  6. Surface finish
    Note whether the panel is bare or incorporates a bonded floor finish.
  7. Manufacturer and identification markings
    Check the underside for printed names, labels, stamps, model numbers or other identifying marks.
  8. Screw holes and fixing method
    Establish whether the existing floor uses loose-laid panels or panels that are mechanically fixed to the support system.
  9. Existing pedestal and head
    Photograph the support underneath the panel, including the pedestal head and any stringers or fixing components.

31mm Replacement Access Floor Panels

If your existing access floor panel measures approximately 31mm thick, several different 31mm panel products may initially appear suitable. However, 31mm thickness alone does not confirm compatibility.

What Should Match When Replacing a Raised Floor Panel?

Screw-Down or Loose-Laid Replacement Panels?

Check how the existing panels are supported and secured before choosing a replacement. A screw-down panel is mechanically fixed to the supporting system and normally incorporates a corresponding fixing arrangement. A loose-laid panel rests on the appropriate pedestal or grid system without the same mechanical panel fixing.

A replacement should not be selected solely because its overall size appears similar. If you're unsure which arrangement you have, photographs of the panel corners, underside and pedestal head can help establish the likely system type.

Can I replace individual raised access floor panels?

Many modular raised access flooring systems allow individual panels to be removed and replaced. The replacement panel still needs to suit the dimensions, construction, support arrangement and technical requirements of the existing floor.

Are all 600mm × 600mm access floor panels interchangeable?

No. A nominal 600mm × 600mm size does not establish compatibility. Actual dimensions, thickness, construction, edge detail, fixing arrangement, pedestal interface and required performance can differ between flooring systems.

Are all 31mm raised floor panels the same?
